During the first week of October, the Mulch and Soil Council (MSC) will host its 51st Annual Meeting in Charlotte, North Carolina. The three-day conference features a wide variety of education, training, and networking opportunities for professionals in the mulch and soil industry. This year’s MSC Annual Meeting takes place October 4–6, 2022 in North Carolina’s largest city of Charlotte. This area is the perfect backdrop for mulch and soil professionals to discuss the latest news and emerging advancements within the industry.

The 2022 MSC Annual Meeting kicks off in the afternoon on Tuesday, October 4 with a series of 1-hour MSC committee meetings. At 5:00 pm, an informal “happy hour” talk with the MSC Board of Directors will take place. At this casual meetup, attendees can gain insight from the Board as they share information on council programs, activities, and industry updates.

Day Two of the MSC conference begins on Wednesday morning with the MSC Board of Directors Meeting from 8:00 am to Noon. The official opening of the MSC Annual Meeting is at 1:00 pm, as MSC President, Jim Weber, Program Chair, Joe Ertel, Legal Counsel, John Hazard, and Executive Director, Robert LaGasse welcome attendees to the annual industry event. The day concludes with the annual membership meeting followed by a cocktail reception and affiliate member display.

Komptech Americas At the Meeting and In the Booth

At the affiliate member display, Komptech Americas will feature an informational exhibit. Komptech Americas representatives Kevin Yuncker, Keith Bartron, and Garrett Lapsys will be in the booth and ready to provide insight into Komptech advanced equipment solutions for commercial mulch and soil production. In the booth, attendees can learn from the team about the benefits of using the Komptech Crambo low-speed, dual-shaft shredder and the Komptech Multistar star screens for more efficient mulch production. In addition to exhibiting at the meeting, Komptech Americas is also a proud sponsor of this industry event.

The third and final day of the MSC 51st Annual Meeting takes place on Thursday, October 6, beginning with an informative panel discussion titled “Women in Our Industry” followed by an educational session on next-generation employee recruiting and retention in the industry. Next, the event’s keynote luncheon address will feature Dr. Brian Jackson who will speak on the Current Challenges and Opportunities in the Growing Media Industry. The meeting concludes in the afternoon with two more industry-related sessions and a closing President’s Reception.
